Our team is working on behalf of a growing life sciences organization seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to lead operations within a GMP-compliant facility, oversee a team of manufacturing associates and technicians, and play a key role in delivering high-quality products on schedule.
Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of vector manufacturing activities across multiple shifts. This includes scheduling, resource planning, material staging, equipment readiness, batch execution, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The role will provide leadership, coaching, and development to direct reports and ensure operational goals are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and develop a team of manufacturing associates and technicians
- Manage scheduling, batch execution, equipment and material readiness, and inventory transactions
- Review manufacturing batch records and lead investigations when necessary
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance safety, compliance, and efficiency
- Maintain systems, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with cGMP, OSHA, EHS, and company standards
- Lead or support initiatives related to root cause analysis, CAPA, 5S, and production system improvements
- Ensure a safe working environment through strong safety leadership and adherence to protocols
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of GMP manufacturing experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity
- Strong knowledge of aseptic processing
- Experience with drug substance manufacturing, cell culture, and upstream/downstream processing is strongly desired
- Familiarity with single-use systems is a plus
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and drive performance
- Strong interpersonal skills, including team leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution
Additional Information:
- This role requires a flexible schedule depending on business needs
- Must be able to work in a BSL-2 environment with appropriate PPE
- Background check required prior to start
- Physical requirements include standing, lifting (up to 25 lbs occasionally), and working near large machinery in a regulated environment
