Randolph-based trailer manufacturer is looking for qualified welders to join their team on 1st shift. 

SHIFT: 1st (6a-4p) Shift hours vary and there can be 8, 10, or 12 hour days with possible Saturdays. OVERTIME is paid on anything over 8 hours a day. 60 hour cap on the work week.

PAY: $21.85/hr. with a .50 raise at 6 months and another .50 raise at one year.

WHAT THEY DO: They manufacture aluminum flatbed, drop deck, dump, and round bottom and refuse trailers as well as steel dump trailers and aluminum truck bodies.

MUST HAVE: 6 inch high Steel-Toed Boots with a heel

MUST HAVE: Strong job history; NO LESS than 2 years of consistent job history and strong mechanical aptitude.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions): 

  • Must be able to read the specification (spec) sheet and identify parts needed for the build.

  • Prepare the work station for the build, including locating or requesting parts from partsman, and proper set-up of parts per the spec sheet.

  • Perform welding duties using MIG and/or TIG welding processes, including welding overhead, vertical downs, horizontally, and flat welds as specified per engineering drawings, work orders, or other verbal instructions.

  • Inspect and correct welds as necessary in order to meet product specifications and proper fit of all parts.

  • Willingness and ability to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.

  • Inspect equipment to maintain functional capability and clean the work area after each trailer and as needed. If any equipment needs repairs, notify supervisor, leadman, or maintenance department immediately.

  • Safely operate overhead cranes and power tools in the preparation of parts for welding, including: cutting, grinding, sanding, and de-burring.  Use various hand tools to fit and fabricate parts.

  • Perform a variety of complicated tasks, and all other duties as assigned in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.

Education Requirements:  High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Essential Mental Functions:  Must be able to read at a high school level,and understand blueprints and engineering drawings.  Demonstrate willingness to work with others and ability to receive instruction.  Must also be able to focus on tasks and follow multiple steps in a process.

Essential Physical Functions:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work mandatory overtime, up to 12 hours per day, 60 hours per week.  The employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and read blueprints.  The employee is frequently required to:  stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, hold, or feel; reach with arms and hands including overhead; climb or balance; and stoop; bend; kneel; crouch; or crawl.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Lifting devices must be used or help must be requested for anything over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus, including visual acuity to 1/32nd of an inch.

Essential Equipment Used:  The employee is frequently required to use:  welding torch, overhead cranes, ladders, tape measure, band saw, air hammer and chisel with air tools as needed, air sanders and buffers, circular saw, drill, common hand tools (ex. pliers), welpers, welding hood, faceshield and headgear, earplugs, earmuffs, green jacket or leathers, welding gloves, safety glasses, steel toe boots, and company uniform.
