Stow, Ohio client is seeking TWO talented and reliable Machine Operator Trainees to join their team on 1st shift!SHIFT: M-F 6a-3:30 with possible weekends depending on production needs
PAY: $18-19/Hr.
Duties:
- Training and Learning: You will undergo comprehensive training to understand the principles of steel cutting, safety procedures, equipment operation, and company policies. This training may include classroom instruction, on-the-job training, and practical exercises.
- Operating Machinery: Assist in the operation of machinery used for cutting and shaping steel, such as saws, shears, plasma cutters, and laser cutting machines. Learn how to set up equipment, adjust settings, and monitor the cutting process to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Material Handling: Handle steel materials safely and efficiently, including loading and unloading raw materials onto machinery, transporting finished products, and organizing materials in the workspace. You may also learn proper storage techniques to prevent damage and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Quality Control: Assist in inspecting finished products for quality and accuracy, including measurements, dimensions, and visual appearance. Learn how to identify defects or irregularities and communicate any issues to supervisors or quality control personnel.
- Maintenance and Cleaning: Participate in routine maintenance tasks for machinery and equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts. Learn basic troubleshooting techniques to address minor issues and ensure optimal performance.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), adhering to safety procedures, and reporting any hazards or incidents promptly.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Assist with maintaining accurate records and documentation related to production activities, including work orders, production logs, and inventory records. Learn how to input data into computer systems and follow established procedures for documentation.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other team members to coordinate tasks, report progress, and address any concerns or issues that arise during the workday.
- Continuous Improvement: Demonstrate a willingness to learn and improve your skills over time. Seek feedback from experienced operators and supervisors, and actively participate in training opportunities to enhance your knowledge and proficiency in steel cutting and operation.
